Make Confident Choices, Brighter Futures: Private School Placement Services
Finding the Right School: Real-Life Scenarios & How Our Specialized Private School Services Can Help
Understanding US Private Schools
Choosing a school for your neurodivergent child can feel overwhelming. There a multitude of educational options for private schools. Some schools are focused on independent and experiential learning, others are more traditional and use a classical model. There are many unique styles of education.
Making the Leap to Private Education?
If you’ve come to the difficult decision that public education isn’t meeting your child’s needs, you’re not alone – and you don’t have to tackle this next step by yourself. For many families, turning to private education is a brave and hopeful move, but it can also feel foreign and anxiety-provoking, especially if your child struggled to succeed in their previous school environment.
Born to Stand Out, not Fit In
We are here to support you through this transition. Whether you are just beginning to explore private school options or already have a specific private school placement in mind, we help you clarify what your child needs to succeed and how to advocate for these supports-especially if your past experiences left you feeling unheard or frustrated.
Some students simply don’t fit the mold of a large public system. They are lost in large class sizes and rigid schedules. Our role is to help translate your child’s story into a plan that makes sense for a new setting, and if needed, pursue advocacy on your behalf for missed services in the public system.
Building the Right Environment
Sometimes, we may need to build the right educational opportunity for your child to shine. This may mean a collective of trusted professionals as part of a Homeschool plan.
You’ve made a courageous decision. Let’s take the next step.
Personalized Services for Every Situation
These 5 fictional—but relatable—scenarios show how our personalized services can help families like yours gain clarity, confidence, and the right support.
Education Fit Assessment: “No one seems to understand my child.”
My 10-year-old has ADHD and sensory processing challenges. In his current school, he’s labeled as disruptive or lazy. I know he’s bright, but no one sees it—and I’m exhausted from trying to explain him to every new teacher. I’m worried that he will be rejected by a selective private school. How can I present the issues he has been experiencing in his current educational setting?
- – Personalized consultation to hear the full story and reduce overwhelm
- – Strengths-based student profile to share with schools
- – Parent coaching and communication tools
- – School matching based on behavioral philosophy and support services
Decision Strategy Package: “I’ve toured private schools, but I’m overwhelmed and still unsure.”
I’ve visited three private schools, and while some things seemed nice, I couldn’t tell if they’d really get my child’s needs. I just don’t know what questions to ask—or how to decide.
- – Customized tour questions tailored to your child
- – Role-play and coaching to boost confidence
- – Debrief meetings to reflect and analyze impressions
- – Decision-making tools like comparison charts and scoring rubrics
Advocacy and Communication Support: “The private school says they ‘can’t’ make adjustments.”
We found a school that we love, but in the admissions process, they said they don’t usually give extra time or allow breaks for students. I’m afraid to push too hard and lose our chance. Our daughter would love to go here; how can we convince the school that she could thrive with some small accommodations?
- – Advocacy coaching to frame your child’s needs respectfully
- – Attendance at school meetings for support
- – Communication templates and support documentation
- – Referrals to legal or advocacy professionals if needed

Exceptional Learner Solution: “I don’t even know what kind of school would work.”
My daughter is twice exceptional—she has dyslexia but is also gifted in math. Every school either focuses on one side or the other. Is there even a place where she’ll fit in?
- – Develop a dual-exceptionality profile with balanced goals
- – Curate a school list with programs for bright students with learning differences
- – Contact schools in advance to gauge openness to 2e learners
- – Provide enrichment and support referrals to complement school placement
Transition Concierge Package: “Our family is relocating from London to Austin. Help!”
We are relocating from the UK to Austin for a tech job transfer. Our 11-year-old son has a formal diagnosis of Autism (Level 1) and ADHD. In London, he had an EHCP and access to a school with strong behavioral support, occupational therapy, and a speech-language therapist who collaborated with teachers weekly. Where can we find a private establishment like that here? Should we be looking at Public schools too? Will we be eligible for other personalized services?

Cultural Fit and Availability:
It’s important to note that while some private schools may not be exclusively dedicated to neurodivergent students, they might offer programs or accommodations to support your child. However, the extent and quality of these services can vary significantly between institutions. Given the limited number of specialized private schools, especially in cities like Austin, families often face challenges in finding appropriate private educational settings for neurodivergent children.
You don’t have to navigate this alone. These stories are fictional—but the relief, clarity, and confidence we aim to provide are very real.
